Dear Peach'z,
That’s not a secret, social media do create community as well as it help to gather and extend them. But here we’re not going to wonder about how we create them, but about their impact and the influence they have through social media and by expansion in our daily lives.
You probably know some of them, like feminist, 2nd degree squad, lgbt+, extremist, believers and so much other, but how do we take a part of a community ? Where are the boundaries of them ? Well that’s all the question.
Thank’s (or not) to social media, you haven’t got any boundaries, you can take part of whatever you wan’t by following the idea of one or another, and that’s pretty much the problem. You don’t need to be faithful to something, you can just switch between them, the only risk is to loose a bit of credibility, but if you are just an ordinary person, no one will notice. And that’s where everything can fell a part, because of this possibility to switch whenever you want, you can just loose yourself, attracted by some attractive sophism witch will comfort you for a bit. But it’s time to realize, all the communities you can find on social media doesn’t offer a healthy surrounding.
Because you have to know it, everyone isn’t just kind and benevolent, quite the contrary, you have to watch for yourself and be careful in what you’re involving, because even if the world create by social media seems to be a place where you can be whatever you wan’t, do not forget that the image you’re reflecting in social media expend on the image of yourself in your daily lives. I know it seems pretty easy to just navigate between all of them, especially on Twitter, where you pass from funny guy to the racist one because of a « tiny » tweet, trying too hard to reach the 2nd degree squad, that’s how you loose yourself.
